6 Ways to Grow This Year

It’s a new year, and with that brings new growth, goals, and momentum. As you seek to develop yourself, your ministry, and your church, know that we’re here to equip and encourage you. Here are 6 ways to help you grow this year.

  1. Grow your faith.

As pastors, we must make sure our relationship with Christ is our primary focus. Consider starting the year with a fast or focused prayer time to center your heart and mind on Jesus. Download Pray First: A Personal Prayer Guide from our friends at Church of the Highlands. Use Pray First personally, with your team, or with your entire congregation.

  2. Grow your leadership.

Pastor Craig Groeschel says, “When the leader gets better, everyone gets better.” From the Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast to 5 Days of Leadership with Pastor Craig, the Open Network has great content to help you sharpen your personal leadership.

  3. Grow your communication skills.

Each time you go on stage, lead a volunteer huddle, or have a conversation in the lobby, you have a valuable opportunity to connect through communication. Learn how to become a better communicator and set up stage time drills in your church so your team can practice.

  4. Grow your volunteer teams.

We couldn’t do what we do at Life.Church without volunteers, and I’m sure the same is true for your church. Plus, we’re passionate about helping our attenders use their passions and skills to build the kingdom. Learn more about our approach to finding and retaining volunteers.

  5. Grow in your decision-making.

Many people have a problem with indecision. Whether it’s due to too many options, a fear of failure, or undeveloped skill, it’s an area we can pour energy into to become better. If you want to grow in your decision-making skills, watch this episode of the Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast or this shorter video from Life.Church Campus Pastor Tim Doremus.

  6. Grow together.

We believe in the power of community—leaders sharpening leaders through connection. We weren’t created to live life alone, and you shouldn’t have to lead alone either. Join our Church Leader Community Group on Facebook to discuss resources, talk strategy and leadership development, and share ideas.
