From the beginning of Scripture to today, God has used women to play a vital and irreplaceable role in His story. The women in your church are no different. So how do you steward what God is doing in them?
Look at the women Scripture highlights: Deborah led a nation as a judge, Esther stepped into impossible circumstances and saved her people, Ruth’s loyalty and faithfulness became a picture of redemption, and Mary carried the Son of God into the world. That is just a few.
God’s work did not end when the front and back cover of the Bible closed. He is still working in and through women today. The women in your church have an integral role to play, and your job as a pastor or ministry leader is to create environments where that calling can come to life.
The biggest question you can ask is this: how do I connect the women in my church? It is through connection that anyone feels comfortable enough to step in and truly become part of a church community.
Host a Women’s Event
Hosting a women’s event is a game changer. It gives you a room full of women, a message crafted specifically for them, and a space designed to lead them toward each other. Done well, a single event can be the moment someone goes from attending your church to truly belonging.
At Life.Church, we host an annual event called Sisters, and it does exactly that. We offer childcare so every woman can attend, and the men in our church take care of all the serving responsibilities so the women can focus entirely on being filled and finding connection with each other.

Create Spaces for Discipleship
Serving creates connection, events create community, but discipleship creates transformation. Are you creating spaces where the women in your church are being intentionally discipled?
Find women in your church who are willing to lead a women’s small group throughout the week. Look for women who are leaders and who are called to mentor the newer women coming into your community. The goal isn’t just to give women a place to gather. It’s to give them a place to grow.
When you invest in the discipleship of the women in your church, you’re not just building community. You’re building the next generation of leaders, mentors, and women who will pour into others the way someone poured into them.
