How You Can Love the Local Church

Last week, we launched our first #WeLoveTheLocalChurch celebration. From India to Miami to Canada to Oklahoma, many of you shared the impact the local church has had on your community or yourself personally. From serious to silly, we read and enjoyed each one!

Samson from India said via Facebook:
“I love the local church for it is Jesus’ will to do so. Here in India, one of the most remote places, people are bound by traditional spirit, living with fear and anxiety and without hope. As we started the local church, people are getting rid of their burdens and now youth are coming to Christ.”

It doesn’t get any better than this story.

As pastors and church leaders, that’s what drives us each and every day.

To lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

To draw people out of darkness and into light.

From bondage to freedom.

From death to life.

Stories Make a Difference

Hearing the stories of how God is working in your communities energizes us and celebrating what God is doing through the local Church unites us.

And unity is what Jesus prayed for us.

“I have given them glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one–I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. ” John 17:22-23

Promoting Unity

Let’s continue to encourage, serve, and love others in ministry. Promoting unity is easy. If you don’t know where to start, begin praying for others churches and pastors in your area.

Consider developing a relationship with them. Grab coffee. Talk strategy. Sharpen one another.

Another way to embrace the unity that God is building throughout the “capital C” Church is to join the Open Network community. With more than 8,500 pastors and leaders sharing ideas and asking questions, it’s the perfect place for meeting others and growing together.
